In professional wrestling and e-wrestling, a Battle Royal (often spelled Battle Royale; plural Battles Royal or Battle Royals) is a multi-competitor match type in which wrestlers or e-wrestlers are eliminated until one is left and declared winner. Typical Battle Royals begin with a number of participants in the ring, who are then eliminated by being thrown over the top rope and having both feet touch the venue floor.
- Main article: Royal Beanstalk
Inspired by the Jack and the Beanstalk fairytale, the Royal Beanstalk is a match seen in Lords of Pain Wrestling (LPW) on its Insanity brand. The match mixes aspects of the tale into a Battle Royal in which wrestlers receive staggered entrances of 2 minutes. During random times, the ring platform will elevate to give the appearance of a Giant Beanstalk. The goal of the match is to retrieve the Golden Harp which is suspened 40 feet above the ring. Once the ring has elevated high enough, the Harp may be retrieved with eliminations no longer possible. The superstar who possesses the Golden Harp and brings it to the ground with both feet touching the ground is declared the winner.
- Main article: Mount Vesuvius Match
Popularized in Full Metal Wrestling (FMW), Mount Vesuvius utilizes a cage structure that is composed of three cages. Each of these cages is stacked on top each other, creating a pyramid-like structure. The match is contested by 30 e-wrestlers receiving staggered entrances of 2 minutes rather than all beginning at the same time. After the first 15 participants have entered the ring, the second cage is lowered. The match continues with more superstars entering every two minutes until the 30th wrestler has entered. Then, the third cage is lowered, along with the gas tap and the coveted Mount Vesuvius Torch.
