The Rookies Championship was an unrecognized championship contested in Lords of Pain Wrestling (LPW), having only been contested on the Insanity brand. Introduced by Steve Monroe, the title was contested strictly between rookies in their first season.

History

Originating in the locker-room trash-talk, Steve Monroe claimed himself as the LPW Rookie of the Year to anyone who would listen. Despite having lost his first four matches, Monroe created a tangible championship to give his claim credibility. In a Fatal Four-Way match for +3 Body Count points, Monroe introduced the title at Insanity LIVE from Athens on May 22, 2009, defending his modified toy replica title against Son of Shockey, Dr. Wagner, and Kafu. In a major upset, Monroe won the match to win his own title.

During following weeks, Monroe continued to promote himself as the Rookies Champion, replacing the title with a new title belt. Monroe campaigned to make the title a legitimate LPW championship, successfully defending the title at Body Count against former Cult tag team partner, Kafu.

After being defeated by Monroe at Insanity LIVE from Baltimore, Joe Michaels destroyed the championship and has never been seen since.
